Terra-Lynn Coggan
Throughout Terra-Lynn’s Canadian campaign efforts she has campaigned to remove the social stigma which is attach to pregnancy loss and infant death and the way in which families grieve their loss. Terra-Lynn believes that greater awareness will increase research which will enable health care providers and social agencies from across Canada and around the world to develop programs and services based on the findings of empirical research. Terra-Lynn passion is evident in her campaign efforts.

Statistics from Canadian Perinatal Health Report (2003) stated that 25 to 50 per cent of all pregnancies “end in miscarriage or loss.” In 2000, 1.5 Canadian infants in 1000 did not survive “their first year of life.” The root of such losses span from miscarriage, neonatal, and infant death to genetic abnormalities, premature birth, SIDS (sudden infant death syndrome), and pregnancy complications.

A charity raising money to buy hospitals better equipment to detect problems early on in pregnancy. It also informs people of the importance of doctors and patients sharing information and listening to one another. It educates the public on how to grieve properly.
